Mission Statement
The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage’s mission is to
fulfil the duties of the State in ensuring the protection and accessibility of
Malta’s cultural heritage.
Mandate
The Cultural Heritage Act 2002 has defined a new
cultural heritage framework for Malta. The main objective of this framework is
to ensure that Malta’s cultural heritage is adequately protected, conserved and
promoted.
Within this legal framework, the Superintendence of
Cultural Heritage was established and given the mission to ensure the
protection and accessibility of cultural heritage. The Act also establishes the
functions of the Superintendence.
Organisation Structure
The staff of the Superintendence of Cultural
Heritage presently consists of thirteen employees, headed by the Superintendent
of Cultural …. Since May of 2016, the Cultural Heritage Advisory
Committee (CHAC) has been chaired by the Superintendent of Cultural Heritage,
which has now assumed an advisory role directly to the Superintendence. Members
