The Culture Directorate has been set up to ensure that the governance role of the Ministry responsible for culture is served as efficiently and quickly as possible, and that important issues affecting the sector are brought to the attention of the competent political and administrative authorities.
The main responsibilities of the Directorate are as follows:
a. Providing arts, heritage, and audiovisual policy, direction, and advice;
b. managing two programs related to culture, the arts and the creative industries, namely the Culture Pass and the Cinema Digitization Scheme;
c. preparing contributions for public debate and discussion;
d. coordinates with relevant entities and parties on all issues related to Malta’s cultural and creative sectors;
