This Ministry has been entrusted with the primary responsibilities for the areas of Cultural Heritage, Restoration, Culture, the Arts, Theatres, the Maltese Language, the National Archives, the National Library, as well as Broadcasting and the audiovisual sector. Work immediately commenced to ensure that, across these sectors, we deliver on the Government’s commitments set out in its programme.
Accordingly, the Ministry is committed to promoting and preserving our country’s cultural heritage, while also supporting and nurturing creativity and artistic expression. Through our various programmes and initiatives, we aim to promote cultural diversity, encourage innovation and creativity, provide opportunities for individuals and communities to further enhance appreciation for the arts, as well as strengthen the audiovisual sector and public broadcasting.
